Dear Readers,
Welcome to our new and improved website! I’m very pleased to announce that the Geriatrics For Caregivers website has been renamed Better Health While Aging.
But don’t worry, all of our practical geriatrics health information for family caregivers is still here.
In fact, the blog is still called Geriatrics for Caregivers. However, renaming the site will make it easier for me to add some related projects involving health and aging.
Soon, I’ll be launching a podcast covering better health for older adults, how to help older parents, and other topics related to maintaining the best quality of life and independence in aging.
(Not sure what a podcast is, or how to download episodes? No problem, you’ll be able to listen right here on the site if you prefer — although I recommend listening while you walk or get some exercise — and I’ll be providing some tips on the many ways you can listen to this audio content.)
I’m also hoping to expand on our special section of the site dedicated to those of you concerned about aging parents. Possibilities include creating more guides, or hosting some dedicated QA calls…I have many ideas for 2016, we’ll just have to see which become reality sooner rather than later.
Despite the name change, the goal of this site and community remains the same: to help share what we know and do in geriatrics, so that you can better navigate late-life health challenges.
Questions? Any particular requests for the coming year? Let me know in the comments below.
Happy New Year to all!

Don’t worry about not sleeping, or fitfully sleeping, or short sleeping: It’s not a disease to be treated, which the current marketing bumpf fear mongers us. More drugs looking for a disease to treat and more gain for pharma stockholders.
Think of the doctor when she was an intern and resident, an ob-gyn. How much and how consistent was his sleep?
Doctors would never take the truck load of drugs they shovel into the vulnerable defenseless elderly virtually none of which are able to treat anything, not even the delusions of pharma marketing department wonks.
